A typical month at Total Logistics?
A typical month for a Senior Consultant
I am a senior consultant at Total Logistics, the complete supply chain consultancy. Between the team we have an average of 8 years' service with Total Logistics, and 17 years of supply chain experience.
There isn’t really such a thing as a “normal” working month but to give you a taster, here’s how the upcoming months are looking. This week I’ve spent a couple of days working in Scandinavia, supporting the implementation of a new automated warehouse. Next week I’m at a two day workshop in Manchester supporting my colleagues in a network optimisation project for a global fashion retailer.
In between these projects I’ll be in our UK office, managing a tender process for one of our key clients who is looking to select a new 3PL partner.
Next quarter I’ll be working on a project for one of our European FMCG customers. I’ll also be visiting a couple of trade exhibitions and hopefully writing a thought leadership article for the logistics press. I’m also encouraged to develop my personal skills and attributes through a structured learning and development programme.
As a full time employee, when I’m not scheduled on project work, I spend time researching latest technologies, developing best practice, enhancing our in-house modelling tools, supporting my colleagues and prospecting for new opportunities.
Over 70% of our business comes from our existing client base, 50% of our work comes from outside the U.K. and 100% of our clients would be happy to recommend us to their colleagues or peers. So you can see that our long-standing relationship with clients is integral to the way we work.
